Polyvore
Have excellent taste? Ever fancied yourself as a magazine art director? Do you have a near-obsessive belief in the importance of ‘curating’ your life? And (most importantly), do you have a heck of a lot of time to fiddle around online? Well then, you’ve GOT to take a look at this great new toy I’ve discovered, called Polyvore.
I first came across it in a fashion context, and the way it works is that you create themed sets – like this minimal black & white group – using items you find online. Constructing the set is fun (kind of like paper dolls crossed with Pinterest), but the added extra is that when you hover over an item you pulled into your set, it links through to the original site (see below), which means you’ll always know where that hot, hot, must-have item came from.
And it goes beyond fashion, into the uber-curation-friendly territory of decor, too. Look at these inspiring Polyvore sets I dug up:
Top: Light Pink Accents
Left: Over the Moon
Right: Marbled Trend
below Left: Pet Art
below Right (ahem): Hamburger Fashion
What are you waiting for? Go on, off you go to play with Polyvore. Your boss won’t mind. I’ve just got started, and have been using it to come up with ideas for how to put Skinny laMinx goodies together. Take a look at the Skinny laMinx profile here .
Looking forward to seeing you on Polyvore!
Amy
