Making Friday: Fun with scraps
This Making Friday post is about what other (small) people have been doing with Skinny laMinx fabrics, courtesy of our production manager, Sarah.
Sarah loves what she does at Skinny laMinx, but I think one of the biggest perks of this job for her is that she gets to take home our offcuts and scraps for her kids. Look at this super cute tortoise, made by her son, Oliver, embellished with the Woodpile and Bowls print.
Recently, Sarah took some scraps to Grove Primary, where her daughter (and my niece!) is at school. Grove has a Readathon with the theme “Enchanted Forest” on the go, so they’ve been getting the kids to make all kinds of things to do with trees and forests. Just look at how the kids used Skinny scraps to make these adorable softie owls.
Sarah gets her hands on scraps because she’s part of the Skinny laMinx team, but did you know that we sell packs of 50 fabric squares in our DIY Square packs? They’re sorted into colour groups and sold in packs of 50, with and each square measuring 15 x 15cm / 6″ x 6″.
A pack of 50 of these will set up a million possibilities for the crafty-minded! And if you’re all out of ideas, you can just stitch them all together to make a big picnic blanket!
Find them in our shop, or online here in ZAR, and here in US$.
