Best Things: Businesses from Maison
This was the Skinny laMinx stand in Hall 1 at Maison & Objet. These trade show stands never photograph well, but I assure you that in real life, it was a beaut, with colours that caught the eye, which really is of the essence at a monster of a show like Maison.
I had a bit of time now and again to get around and explore the other seven stadium-sized halls, and came back with a couple of treasures to share here:

Danish company Gubi, who breaks the Scandi rules, giving us inspired combinations of colours and objects.

I met the talented Laura Slater, whose screenprinted designs are utterly astonishing. Dammit, why didn’t I buy one?

I did buy one (actually, two) of these spectacular embroided cushions however, designed by Gabrielle Soyer for Lindell & Co. More about these soon.

These cutting boards by Belgian duo Muller van Severen were interesting to me, mostly because of their colours.

Loved these rather odd brick objects by Marie-Christine Dorner, which were part of a ceramics exhibition in Hall 7.
