Decorating with Scissors: Jo’s House
This has been so much fun! We’ve loved getting your emailed pics asking for our Decorating with Scissors help and advice.
Here’s what we came up with for Jo Glover, one of our lovely customers who sent in some pics of a couple of rooms that needed a bit of a Skinny infusion. Jo had a couple of existing cushions from us, a preference for natural, calm colours & really wanted to include our Tall Protea pillow into the mix.
CHALLENGE 1: DAYBED
First off, Jo wasn’t happy with her current selection of pillows on her Zanzibar bench, already upholstered in our Woodpile print. We got out our virtual scissors and freshened up the scene by adding two large Palmetto pillows in Pine Nut, symmetrically placed for a steady effect, framing our Orla Stem print in Sand.
CHALLENGE 2: KIDS ROOM
Then we moved on to her kids room where Jo needed to give the window seat a bit more zing. Here we took her existing Fronds pillow in the raffia colour, and paired it with a Woodpile pillow in spruce, as well as an oblong Colour Pop Pillow in spruce, piped with lemon. What do you think?
CHALLENGE 3: THE SOFA
We loved getting our snip-snip on with Jo’s bare sofa, which she wanted to tie in with the rest of the house… with with the specific request to include her favourite Tall Protea print in charcoal.
While the two large Tall Protea pillows give the sofa a strong anchor, we played around with a range of pillow shapes and sizes with the rest. So here you have two large Tall Protea pillows, paired with a smaller one in Bowls in a sharply contrasting lemon colour, along with a long, thin Colour Pop Pillow in spruce, piped with lemon. Then, for a bit of Colour Pop fun, we added a round pillow in lemon, piped with gold.
