Christmas!
I’ve been dreadfully lazy about Christmas this year – everyone’s just getting teatowels and trays (shh, don’t tell my family!) – and so I haven’t really got into the spirit yet. But now I’m finally getting cracking – my collection of toilet roll inners for homemade Christmas crackers is growing, and I’m saying “after you” in the shopping aisles.
I’ve also been inspired to spread some cheer via the web, thanks to Carson, who is sponsoring a drought-stricken woolly sheep, and Camilla Engman’s sweet offerings.
Check out this amazing site called Make Christmas Matter, put together by Greater Good SA. It has a really easy-to-use shopping cart where you can choose to donate from R50 to R5000 for specific items, such as horseshoes for a carthorse project, beekeeper training, pencil crayons for a pre-school training project… It’s brilliant!

Love all your postings, just spent quite a bit of time looking at the whole blog. Your work is so imaginative and beautiful. I would love to know where you have your melamine trays manufatured. All the sources I found were in China with high minimums. I live in Texas. Any suggestions for a fellow designer?

Hi Victoria
I got my trays made in Johannesburg, at a company called Thermopressing. They have no minimum quantity and seem to be really nice people too! Look them up on the web at http://www.thermopressing.co.za. Good luck, and thanks for the kind comments.
