Please be patient, we have a process
I made a new year’s resolution to do a new tapestry. Yes, it’s July, but finally I have made a start! Check out my lovely colours. Yum.
Lately, I’ve been complaining to whoever will listen that none of my work has much process – I seem to always do everything at breakneck speed, with barely a pause for thought.
Well, they do say you should be careful what you wish for.
After many an evening spent tapestry-ing away, I began to feel increasingly unhappy with this design, and finally resolved that I wanted to make something where I made more decisions along the way. So it was out with the Kwik Unpik…
… and now this is how I spend my evenings. Sigh. Enjoying my wished-for experience of “process”, stitch by unpicked stitch.

oh no…..i want to reach in my screen and take that tool away from you. I guess I understand what you mean, but it looked promising to me.

It did look very promising! But that’s the cool part of making things, when you hear the little voice of doubt and actually listen to it, no matter how attached you are to the piece or how much work you’ve put in. Well, for me it’s the cool part, anyway 🙂
