In House and Leisure
Yikes! It’s mid-July already. The August magazines are about to hit the shelves, so I’d better get round to showing my things that appeared in July’s House and Leisure. It sure was a bumper month for me!
Jeanne Botes styled this story about illustration in decor, expertly shot by Inge Prins.
Hey! There’s my Stem Stitched cushion, and my Dark Willow cushion too (both were in my Etsy shop, but now are sold).
All these paper cutouts in this shot are from my studio pinning board. They’re mostly the waxy backing paper from my vinyl cutouts. I had to give them a price, which was a bit wierd – I just rescued them from my bin, after all.
And Jeanne asked me to stitch these paper lampshades for the shoot.
Then, my Paper Grass cushion must have caught somebody’s eye, as it made it onto this backpage shoot too.

Congratulations 🙂 I love the stem stitch cushion and it looks so good on those lamp shades too.

Oooh! Was the lampshade problematic to stitch? I might give something like that a try myself- we have oodles of paper lampshades around our house because I can’t make up my mind what sort of lampshade to get for any room.

Thanks for all the encouragement, everyone! Much appreciated.
Zee, it was a somwhat delicate operation to stitch the paper, but it worked out surprisingly well. Luckily, paper lampshades aren’t too expensive, so it’s definitely worth experimenting.

Cool! I’ll let you know how I get along. I see you got a mention on Deisgn Sponge today- that ought to send a few customers your way!
