Feeling bold
The New York home of Design Miami art director Rodman Primack, featured in AD Spain is quite a feast for the eyes, isn’t it?
Crazy as it may appear, it is no simple feat to create a space with SO MUCH pattern and colour (not to speak of scale and texture!). I felt inspired to attempt add a touch of my own to Rodman’s crazy nest. I hope he likes my suggestions:
Is there really space for another pillow on this sofa? Well, I do feel that a pop of tangerine would offset that blue velvet beautifully, and I think that Rodman – who clearly is a ceramics aficionado – would like the back-story of the Oddjects print.
So cool to spot a South African design in Rodman’s bedroom! I was tempted to match the Doktor & Misses Kasenna server with my similarly geometric Rough Diamond print, but instead, I decided to plump for a shot of acid yellow with the Bowls print.
Bathroom. In Max Lamb’s Marmoreal. Swooning, with spots before my eyes. But, help! I can’t find the extra toilet paper! Of course, there it is: cupped by a Skinny laMinx soft bucket, in a coordinating yet easy-to-spot shade of tender pink.
It’s not as if I’d even guess this part of the house belongs to Rodman. Perhaps he goes here to give his eyes a rest. Well, I thought I’d give his lovely green cushion a blue friend, in the Breeze design, because frankly, I feel this bit of the house is letting the side down just a bit.
