More cushions
This is another of my rescued framed embroideries found at Milnerton Market, then turned into a cushion. Isn’t it lovely? It even had a date embroidered on it – 1971 (almost as old as me!)
Why did I sell it? I guess it’s because anything in black just won’t do in our place, especially with the current skyrocketting rate of springtime Siamese hairshedding.
Dreadful photo of lovely cushion made by me in my early stages of exploring the possibilities around de-kitschifying rock art (still a work in progress). It’s a simple repeat of an ancient cave drawing from the Cederberg. I made a stencil and chalked it onto my fabric, then slowly but surely stitched each cow using my sewing machine. This one I kept. Yay. Oh, and there’s not much to see of it, but Paul made the chair. Clever chap.
