A tale of two trees
A tale of two trees
Lucky me, I got to decorate two trees this Christmas. At home, we used the dowel rod and cable tie tree that I’d hacked together for my Neighbourgoods Market stall. It really looks sweet, especially topped with one of Paul’s laser cut bike chain rings (top left)!
Then, in Fish Hoek, my mom (a Christmas genius) had saved two dried aloe flower stalks from earlier in the year. She put them in a pot to make a fabulous African tree, which we hung with grass and beaded decorations.
Hope you all had a happy Christmas. I thought I would manage not blogging for a lot longer, but we all know, it’s a pretty tough habit to break, and not one I plan to kick in the new year by any means!

Both great diy Christmas ideas! I’ve got to agree about that view – I could get used to waking up to that each morning!
Happy 2009!

We used to have a star like these ones, and all the nativity characters made of the same reed stuff and mealie cobs. Makes me feel very nostalgic!
