I’m still loving my weekly ceramics class, and these guys are the first of the bunch to come out of the kiln. Fingers crossed the rest don’t explode so I can eventually line them up in more or less the way I painted them before I began 🙂

Flowering palette
One of the succulents on my rooftop studio garden started flowering this week. It’s not my usual set of colours, but I kind of love this palette of silvery greys and orange-y pinks. My winter wardrobe always tends towards the greys and blacks, and I’m kind of dreading heading in that direction this year, and …

Making Friday: Half Square update
A while back, I blogged about a very exciting project I am working on with Spier Architectural Arts, and now it’s all gathering momentum, for the big Reveal on 8 May. I spent my Making Friday working on my giant tiled panel, and while I took lots of pics, I can’t show the full design …

On the way in and on the way back
It’s great having a phone on my camera, as I can take pics of things I spot on my walk to the studio in the morning, and on the way home, too. Today’s batch: This morning (above): colours on a pole set in concreteoutside the garage on Kloof Street (to stop people parking on the …

Ducking below the parapet
There is the most amazing bunch of people working at Skinny laMinx, making calculations, keeping records, cutting, stitching, ordering, stockchecking, quality checking, packing, customer relations, and then there’s a shop to run too. Everyone is working at full capacity every minute of every working day to make sure that the things we produce are of …
