In this instance, it’s the shadows on the chest of drawers I inherited from my Grandma.

Potential in a Blackjack
I know full well that Blackjacks are not our friends, and can really ruin a perfectly good pair of tights, but this morning was the first time I’ve seen them on the plant (rather than on my socks), and you have to admit that looking like this, they can almost be forgiven. Gasp! Just had …

Pinks in action
As promised in yesterday’s post, here are the work-in-process results of my pink-infused Making Friday. I’m making sticker wallpaper for my studio bathroom. And look! I’m even wearing pink. Sheesh… Happy weekend, everyone!

Utterly spoiled
My bloke spoiled me rotten this Christmas by giving me this gorgeous amber pendant on a dip-dyed silver chain, from Cape Town jeweller Steffany Roup… and then I couldn’t stop myself, adding Steffany’s weighty Geode ring to my finger too. Flair
While doing a heap of sorting and packing in my studio over the weekend, I came across this old shoebox, filled with long-forgotten art supplies. The style put me in mind of Andy Warhol’s wonderfully elegant shoe illustrations: And also reminded me of some old horoscope illustrations of mine that had been inspired by Andy …

Sonia Delaunay
This weekend, I was re-reading Orla Kiely’s wonderful book, Pattern, where she mentioned the influence that designer Sonia Delaunay had on her as a developing designer. It made me remember I’d snapped some cellphone pics of a Sonia Delaunay book while in San Francisco (too heavy to buy). These pics show clearly show how Orla …
