Peculiar but charming
20 Feb 2008
Peculiar but charming I adore this NY Times article by Joanna Goddard about people who only wear one colour. There’s a green one, and a pink one, and a blue one… Charming.
Ha! I was just thinking yesterday about a girl with whom I went to college, who only wore green. When I first met her, I was intrigued. After several months of seeing the same kelly sweaters and mossy jeans, it sort of lost its charm. -X
hello, great blog! i’m being lazy… where can i buy one of your tea towels in town (besides the n.goods market)? or can i just get one from you direct? thanks. ant
Oh cool! My mother only wears shades of purple and maroon. She has oodles of beautiful clothes and just about everything matches so she has endless outfit possibilities. And my friend’s Mum only wears shades of berry and damsen! I think they’re both a bit loopy, but those colours look great on them, so I can see why they stick with em!
Ha, I checked out the article- that was rather interesting. My favorite was the gray fashion designer. I think I am practically in danger of becoming the brown guy though- I’ve started forcing myself to buy t-shirts in pinks and teals, just to branch out. -X
I wonder if I’ve met Zee’s mum! I remember always seeing ‘The Purple Lady’ when I was a kid. She would always be wearing the craziest outfits (with polka dots) in all shades of purple and lavender. When I’d see her in line at the clothes store, she’d have a pile of purple clothes for her granddaughters.
I always thought she was a bit out there, but it’s kinda neat to see them around, you end up counting on them to wear that same old color.
so funny I just enjoyed reading this article and then popped over to see and read your new posts (as I do every day)…i agree with you this article is great. I couldn’t imagine myself in just one color.

We used to laugh when we opened my Mom’s closet. RED!!! Then came the day that I realized that the interior of my closet was BLUE!
