How to get ready for a new week
How to get ready for a new week
Here’s my recently-tested recipe for a great weekend:
– Watch Juno (delightful)
– Make Pad Thai (or better, get husband to make it)
– Go window shopping with a friend
– Do no work (do not omit this step)
– Sweat it out at yoga
– Go to Kraft at the Book Lounge
– Bounce with little nieces and fat-as-butter baby nephew on a trampoline (adorable)
– Decide to resign your job
– Take a long walk on the mountain
– Decide to go to Tuscany, even though you can’t afford it really (esp if you quit your job…).
When you’ve done all that and are sitting in the sun with a book and a cup of tea, get a kind neighbour to knock at the door with half of an enormous bunch of flowers that someone thrust at her in the street.
Repeat whenever necessary.
PS: Think this is big flowers? Check out Lena’s colossal floral specimen.

No way, you really quit your job?! Awesome for you Heather, awesome! Are you gonna focus on Skinny laMinx full time now or move on to something else?

Yup, by the end of April, I’ll be free! I’m just way too busy with illustration work and Skinny work and can’t cope with running four careers at once any more. It’s a great job though. Anyone want to write comics scripts for a living? In Cape Town?

Lovely photos (again). And a great recipe.

such lovely shots of your home.
congratulations on your job decision. and tuscany! brilliant.
Francesca
well done heather. you can still be a superwoman with only 3 careers! i’m sure it feels like a big relief to have made the decision.

Wow…..those are some fabulous hints on the new week…*S*
Now that you’ve quit your job, I spose you meed me to buy some more tea towels? Or an apron?
Let me know how many gross to order.
Sarah
That’s awesome…kudos to you! That safety net is just an illusion anyway. 🙂

I went to Tuscany last year, on my own, as reward for 5 years of small children; open your slush fund account now and do it! You can rent a beautiful farmhouse that sleeps 6 people for a week for about the same you’d pay per day in CT. I’ll even give you URLS if you want. Call me an escape-enabler 🙂

A momentous decision! I admire your bravery and vision! What a fulfilling weekend!

good on you! woo hoo! how liberating, and i know – i did the same thing 2 years ago and haven’t looked back since! didn’t get random flowers though, although it’s daffodil season so i will treat myself tomorrow i think.

Hmmm
Sounds good
Bob Likes; in no particular order
1)do no work
2)quit your job
3)go to Tuscany
Hits all the right notes – Bob also likes the jam very much, thanks for that…
