Meet Stephanie
Meet Stephanie
I drew Stephanie for a TV ad that Fairlady magazine was making. I don’t have a telly, so didn’t get to see the ad until I picked up a disc from the publishers last week.
It’s really cute, but for the life of me, I can’t work out how to get a list of files from a disc to turn into a YouTube clip. So the best I can do is to get you to close your eyes and imagine Stephanie walking around, shopping, collapsing in a sofa and reading her brand new issue of Fairlady.
Tech info: I drew Stephanie with a pen, scanned her, made colour shapes with that Photoshop tool that looks like a crown with a knot in it, then rubbed out some of the lines.

She’s cute! I like her hair, it has real bounce.

Hey Heather,
You can download a nifty little spot of freeware here called mpeg streamclip – http://www.squared5.com/
you simply drag and drop the data file from the dvd menu into the window with the 5 dots (mpeg streamclip) and then you can export your clip as a quicktime or mpeg and upload to youtube. Hope that helps!
orange you lucky!
Stephanie is foxy! Lovely work:)
I am also a U Tube technical outcast. If you figure it out – let us know:)
Cicada Studio
The polyagonal tool.
I am SO happy you put this note in because I was about to prod you for all your secrets!
Cicada Studio
Polygonal not polyAGONAL. That would be the tool for trying to do agony-inducing impossible work, I suppose.
Lorraine
You know, I love your personal work and patterns, but I Really love your illustrations. This is great!
Alex Kirkwood
thanks for the tech info!
i’ve been wondering how to do exactly that! being a newbie to photoshop and teaching myself, trail and error is a long winded process…. yay!

Hello, Stephanie. She’s cute. Loved your post yesterday. That was so nice.
Got the pics of that bag, the eggcups up finally on my blog. I take the worst photos, but oh well. Love them all.
Heather Moore
Thanks for the tip, Cecile! I’m going to see if I can work that out this afternoon (and will fill Helen in if I manage!)
Oh and thanks for reminding me of that tool’s name, Michelle.
Joyce, I’m so pleased you like everything, and it’s great to see your pics! Yay.

hi, i discovered your blog through stephanie’s artists who blog interview {great reading}…
your stephanie is so v skinny! thanks too for the tech notes. i’m surprised to hear you made her in photoshop, would have thought illustrator.
tho i think i prefer the poly- tool to the endless reshaping of curves with the pen tool 🙂
