    Just add Orla

    7 Jul 2010

When I have a new yardage design, I try to upholster a chair or two, as it really does help to see “action shots” of the fabric. Problem is, I got totally carried away with the Orla colours, doing them in such a rainbow, that I became worried that I’d be swamped in revamped chairs. Check out all the Orla options:

So instead of buying and revamping chairs myself, I cunningly approached Dan from Saks Corner in Observatory. We agreed that in exchange for some product shots, he’d revamp some of his tatty chairs in Orla. The before/after results are just spectacular (more pics at Flickr too):

Dan’s going to be selling all these chairs at Saks Corner, so hop on over to Lower Main Rd Observatory to see them live.

And if you’re the type who is wanting to do your own Orla-esque makeovers, come right over to my Etsy shop, where it’s all for sale, screenprinted on cotton/linen blend basecloth.

I honestly can’t choose a favorite colorway. They’re all great (but oh, that red!).

The chairs are *mwah!* magnifique! I particularly love the “cloud” back ones. Painting them was an awesome touch.

Thanks so much! It’s been an intense few weeks getting it all ready, but thank goodness Dan was project-managing all the revamps and making all the decisions. I’m thrilled to bits with the results, and actually quite sad to see the chairs go back to his shop. xx

Thanks, Dee! I really am thrilled to bits – and it was really fun handing over all the decision-making to Dan. Love what he came up with. xx
