Shaggy dogs
While on Noordhoek Beach these holidays (see previous post), we spotted a really funny looking shaggy black dog, with crazy wild hair – some of it tied up with a scrunchie – and giant floormop feet. The owner told us he was an Afghan Hound with rather poor grooming habits. I tried drawing him the next morning, and think he turned out ok!
That crazy Afghan must have given me a severe dose of shaggy dogs on the brain, because in my studio yesterday, I found myself sweeping my linocutting shreds into shaggy dog shapes too…
… and turned the pics into a funny little animated gif that I hope you enjoy (no idea how to make it start from the beginning, so you’ll just have to stick around a bit til it gets there):

isnt it funny how something like meeting a dog with character can inspire your creativity. I love what you’ve done. Thanks, pat

It’s true, Pat! And it’s always great to have those moments when you don’t really know what you ought to be doing when the really fun creative stuff seems to happen.
