In the Shop: Lisboa Tile Packs

Earlier this year, I was immersed in Lisbon tiles when I visited that city with Ace Camps. While teaching my group of students about pattern and tile, I developed packs of paper tiles for my students to play with, giving them hands-on fun with figuring out all the many, many layouts that a single motif could provide. This exercise was so popular that I decided to turn it into a product, just in time for Christmas.

We have three packs, each containing three sets of 12 cards printed with actual Lisbon tile designs. There’s a CLASSIC pack, a GEO pack, and another with more contemporary motifs, called MOD.

When you lay out 12 cards, then shift the order, turning and shuffling the cards, you’ll be amazed at all the different overall patterns you’ll make. The cards really are a brilliant way to experience the magic of a pattern repeat.
