Colour: Inspiration for Roof Garden
When we launched Roof Garden in June, we wanted to give our guests something special that would show them the new print and also give them some insight into what inspired the design and the colours. That’s how we came up with this rather fabulous ‘Pantone’ book, which shows swatches of the fabric as well as the Pantone colours associated, along with some poetic descriptions of dry plant species like agave, epiphyllum and aloe.
The Roof Garden fabric print is inspired by the shapes, colours & shadows of the Skinny laMinx studio roof garden – a hidden-away inner city space above our shop, up the fire escape, on the way to the production studio.
The three colourways of Roof Garden – Miami, Rio & Cairo – are named for other rooftop gardens, which are, in my imagination, scattered in cities across the globe.
