Making Friday: weaving progress
I pinned up all the bits and pieces so far made on my kiddie loom, along with a couple of experiments on my rather clunky second-hand rigid heddle, and all together, they make me feel pretty good about my progress
But now that I’m the proud owner of a brand new Ashford knitter’s loom (a portable rigid heddle table loom), I’m working on something a little more ambitious.

Funnily enough, I’m actually not using the loom as it’s intended, but as a tapestry warp instead. It’s not really ideal. I’ve had to unpick it in its entirety once, which was quite dispiriting, but the pain of undoing had a certain pleasureable virtuousness to it that is wonderful to be able to afford, because, unlike my deadline-driven work life, this stuff I do on Making Friday (and weekends and nights) is simply for the fun of it!
