Making Friday: Tiled patterns
I’ve been spending time in the studio preparing for the Ace Camp I’m teaching in Porto next week, carving small 3cm stamps for the students to explore the heck out of. Here are the ones I’ve made, and although I have a vague sense of what kinds of patterns they might make, I’ve held back on trying them out, because I’m really excited to see their possibilities uncovered by my students next week.
Actually, I did use the simplest of the lot to make a sample sheet, in order to get the students excited about what their stamp might be able to do. Seriously, I simply can’t get over how much potential for exciting pattern generation there is in a simple motif. And we haven’t even started incorporating colour yet!

How fun! Can’t wait to play with those stamps in Porto next week. Lucky me!
