Tricks of the trade
Tricks of the trade
So finally I found a solution to making up swatch books for my Sevilla Rock fabrics. It was pretty simple really. I went to a bookbinders and gave them specs for making up 25 plain card headers with a loop for hanging and holes for interscrews. Then I made up a vinyl sticker label, chopped up fabric, pasted on duct tape, pinked and punched and screwed with my tools and tricks of the trade, and voila!… we have swatchbooks.
Underneath each sample swatch is a little sticker with essential breaking news.
Check in tomorrow to see the results of the very first, and highly unprofessional, Sevilla Rock swatchbook that I sent off…

That looks great!!! We have loose fabric swatches in our store and we have tried a few different ways to display but to no avail. Where can I get all those supplies to make swatch books?

Hi Tina
It’s hard to know where you’ll find those things in your neighbourhood, but a sewing shop and maybe a shop that works with leather would be a good place to start.
Best,
Heather
