Out and About: Sea Point Library
Sea Point Library is one of my favourite buildings in Cape Town, not least for the spectacular concrete brise-soleil surrounding the building! Friday was the first time I’ve actually stopped the car to take some photos and to go inside the building, where I was totally charmed by the old-school style and profusion of potted plants all over the place. I also discovered that the foundation stone was laid in 1970, and that the library was designed by Cape Town architect Graham Ramsay.
I hope you enjoy a visit with me to this Cape Town architectural treasure.
Update: When launching our 2016 fabric collection, BRISE SOLEIL, I had the brainwave of holding the launch at the library. What a fabulous evening we had!

What a lovely space! It is inviting, orderly, well tended and shows great respect for books and people. Thanks for sharing.
