Hooray for the President
This time, it’s the real deal, folks, and the timing couldn’t be better, could it? The amazingly talented Heidi Chisholm (formerly of Daddy Buy Me a Pony fame, now living in NYC), has designed this Obama commemorative cloth, now in production by Cape Town company Shine-Shine.

After I posted my hacked-together Photoshopped Obama cloth, I had a deluge of emails from people who wanted to get their hands on a cloth like this, and now you can (yes, you can!). Just get hold of Tracy Rushmere of Shine-Shine to place your order.
Oh, and congrats on your new prez, Americans. I’m thrilled to bits.
PS: Read more about Shine-Shine in a post I’ve written over at the Elle Decoration blog today.

Perhaps they could do a table cloth of me as well down there in Africa, think I’d look good with a blue background. I know my momma would buy one at least.

52% of voting Americans might be thrilled but 48% are not. I came to your blog to check out your most recent designs as I was planning to purchase some towels through your Etsy store and was disappointed to see this. I realize it is not your design but that you share the sentiment of the designer. It is very interesting to me that some businesses openly state their political beliefs while others choose not to alienate potential customers.

Oh wow! Anonymous, please show us your pitiful face – the very idea you would come on this creative blog and complain about this. You are SO very scary. The whole world craft economy will come to a halt because of your sensitivity!

amazing! this is fabulous. and anonymous, if you are alienated from a designer because of her political beliefs, that is very very short sighted and close minded!

Isn’t it amazingly bad form that someone can come here and post on how bitter they are about our election? Can this person not at least acknowledge that it is a wonderful thing that people in other countries can feel so hopeful about OUR President?
Trust me, you WON’T miss this person’s business. As of today, a full 68% of Americans approve of President Obama and 45% of Republicans approve of him.
I love your site and please don’t take these types of people to heart or change a thing.
