We went for a walk on Noordhoek Beach on Boxing Day, when the spring tides were up and the entire wide, wide beach was covered in water, moving from the breakers to the lagoon. Lots of sea vegetables had washed up, including this long piece of seaweed with a knot in it. I thought it …

Cook. Better
For quite some time – a couple of years, at least – food writer Nikki Werner shared a corner of my studio above the shop on Bree Street. I was the only other person upstairs, as Pearl was living in Paris at the time, and frankly, this studio wasn’t half as busy and populated as …

Originol
I am feeling SO inspired and SO excited, after seeing these gorgeously styled pics sent through by Originol – one of our fabulous German stockists. I am in love with how they’ve styled my prints! Thanks for the inspiration, Julie! Visit the Originol shop for lots, lots more.

A new lease on Space for Life
Space for Life, as you’ll know if you’ve been reading this blog for a while, is the go-to Cape Town store for fans of mid-Century Nordic furniture, ceramics and glassware. I’m hoping it will be a year where Cape Town’s design community comes together to support and encourage one another, while the Design world is focussed on our city. At Skinny laMinx, …

Back and forth
It’s been a crazy week of backing and forthing between studio and home this week, as we renovate the studio upstairs, and electricity goes on and off at home rather unpredictably. So while work has been a bit patchy, I’ve seen a lot of pavement and street markings on my travels, to nice effect.
